Joint Pain (arthralgia)

Symptoms:

Typical symptoms of joint pain include pain, aches, and limited function of the joints, joint stiffness, swelling, redness, warmth, and tenderness.

Common Causes:

Joint pain often results from an injury affecting any of the ligaments (fractures, sprains), bursae, or tendons (tendinitis) surrounding the joint. Injury can also affect the ligaments, cartilage (tears), and bones within the joint. Additional common causes of joint pain include joint inflammation (arthritis), infection, bone tumors, bursitis, osteochondritis dissecans, sickle cell disease, and steroid drug withdrawal.
